Activities that our group has done throughout the year.
Our group created the Google Form survey to gather information about students' knowledge.
We collected some data that we can use to analyze the issue in this society related to science.
Additionally, we could notice that the majority of students are interested in our project. A total of 50 students answered our survey.
Over 50% of students answered that studing science is not essential or not sure.
Over 66% of students answered that they don't have a science academy even though they have academies.
Our group attached the posters in middle school to advertise our science quiz show. It does introduce the date of the science quiz show and the prizes. The poster contains the QR code of our Kakotalk channel and other extra contact information.
This poster really helped us to make people know about our capstone project and science quiz show. A lot of teachers helped us to advertise our project either.
We tried to contact other educational companies and organizations to advertise our project to international students outside SJAJ. Additionally, we contacted SJAJ high school students to advertise our project also in high school.
Khan Academy is the biggest educational company internationally that provides online learning lessons for both middle and high international students. We contacted Khan Academy for advertisement and our group recognition.
Mega Study is one of the biggest educational companies in South Korea. Mega Study provides both online and offline learning lessons to Korean students. We contacted Mega Study to advertise our project to South Korean students who use Mega Study.
VSTR(Vantage Science & Technology Review) is a group of SJAJ high school students who are interested in science and share science information through Instagram posts. We contacted them for the advertisement because they are truly similar to our group's activities. We also got a positive response from them.
@ximzaxan is an Instagram account that tells people how to study efficiently and recommendations for study requirements. We contacted her for our advertisement because she had many followers and also we knew that the information in our account will be helpful to other people who study science.
For more data to gather about science education in school, we interviewed science teachers in SJAJ. We interviewed Ms.Weller (8th grade science teacher) and Ms.Reese (7th grade science teacher) to ask about science education in SJAJ and our group advertisements. We prepared the edited interview video of science teachers. Please click here to watch the video.
To follow our action plan, we upload Instagram posts about daily science facts every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. We made our posts by using Canva and includes both languages, Korean and English. The posts contain a lot of interesting science facts and humorous photos that can make people more interested in reading our posts. Our group worked hard to upload 3 Instagram posts with 10 photos 3 days a week.

We also created the message to remind people about our Instagram post through the Kakaotalk Channel. We also had to make personal payments for creating our own channel and sending the message to subscribers. Our group really worked hard to use time wisely and keep the time of uploading posts and messages every 3 days a week.
Then, we finally opened up the science quiz show on May 15. We created the Google Form that contains some questions from our Instagram posts. Also, we archived our entire Instagram posts on May 15 to prevent cheating.
This quiz was opened between May 15 and 16. A total of 10 students participated in our quiz show, and one student from SJAJ with a score of 17.5 out of 20, won first place.
We gave three students prizes of a book gift certificate through Kakaotalk chatting. Our group also packed some small snacks by ourselves to give to students who participated in our quiz show.
