Mrs. Sarles loves music! She sings, plays piano, guitar, flute, recorder, and all of the elementary classroom instruments. She loves seeing students discover their musical abilities and become composers of their own songs.

She loves to be outdoors and goes backpacking, hiking, and camping in the beautiful Oregon mountain wilderness. This summer during the pandemic, she and her family explored social distancing in the Three Sisters Wilderness, the Mount Jefferson Wilderness, and the Diamond Peak Wilderness.

She loves her family and being together with them. Her son is in 3rd grade and her husband makes the best coffee on the coast! They can often be found in Old Town riding bikes to the coffee shop and enjoying a latte on the river's edge. They also love getting tacos and going on picnics.

She loves her dog, Opry. Named after the Grand Ol' Opry in Nashville, Tennessee, Opry came into her life when she was 8 weeks old and living in Kampala, Uganda. She traveled on the airplane when Mrs. Sarles moved back to America in 2015. She is 7 years old and loves barking at the delivery truck drivers, earning treats, and going on walks.
