1. Excellent choir students are in the right place at the right time. They arrive to class on time and are in their correct seat or riser place.

3. Excellent choir students participate. They sing at the appropriate times, listen at the appropriate times, and engage in all classroom activities. They know that excellent participation means doing so in a way that is supportive and helpful to themselves and others, never disrespectful. They also participate in caring for the choral classroom; they do not chew gum, eat, or drink in the choir classroom, they put their music and folders in the correct slot & take care not to damage them, they put trash in the trash can or recycling bin, and do not write on or damage the walls, floors, or classroom furniture. They do not play on the piano or other instruments without teacher permission.

4. Excellent choir students avoid inappropriate talking. They are quiet and respectful and make every effort to follow classroom directions when others are speaking or singing, allowing themselves and all students the opportunity to maximize their musical journey and enjoyment.

In order to maintain a safe and encouraging environment, students may not use recording devices in the classroom unless with specific teacher instruction.
