STARBUCKS COFFEE PRICES COMPARISON, ACROSS THE WORLD IN 2013

A Wall Street Journal article in 2013 published coffee prices across countries (like the previously popular big-mac index). The article has shows that in terms of US dollars you had to fork out the most in Scandinavia and Russia (not at all surprising). But interestingly, the cup of coffee was surprisingly expensive in Greece and in New Zealand as well. However, these stats are not exactly insightful without putting them in perspective. While in Norway people live well (highs standards of livings due to a number of factors not discussed here, such as healthcare and pension), the median disposable income is only about 2700 USD per month (http://www.oecdbetterlifeindex.org/countries/norway/). If you want to consume coffee on regular basis and eat out then Scandinavia may not be the best place for you.
