This page is about hydroponics. Specifically, it's about my interests in hydroponics, so I don't know if you'll actually find anything here that's useful. There's already a mess (well it seems like a mess to me) of information on hydroponics on the web, and a significant number of books on the subject, and it is not my intention to attempt to regurgitate that information, but more to give some personal introspection on some things that can be done.
My interest in hydroponics (hydroponics specifically, seperate from aquaponics) is entirely in the kind of backyard, low-tech, low-cost that a bozo like me can accomplish. That pretty much is just within the scope of non-circulating hydroponics. Non-circulating hydroponics is the no-brainer, low-tech kind: you mix up a nutrient soup of some kind, you stick the plants in it, they grow (hopefully). No pumps, grow lights, or green houses.
I see three different and important elements to the hydroponics thing. The container, the nutrient solution, the plant.
Worm water, a nutrient derived from a tea made from worm casings.
Chemical solutions, a mix of different industrial fertilizers.
An easy way to start hydroponics.
