歷史沿革

在早期,台灣的經濟並不像現在這麼繁榮。因此,大部分的家庭無法供給孩子在小學畢業後繼續升學,不是因為他們沒有財源以付學費,就是家庭需要他們在稻田裡或工廠賺錢幫忙家計。由於在成長階段缺乏完整的知識基礎,面對後來日新月異的時代,這些沒有完整知識基礎教育的青年男女,無法在不斷變化的現代社會中成長,他們沒有準備好去面對現代社會的挑戰。

基於學校應該提供學生教育功能以及為社區服務,已故前蔡校長在1973年策劃中壢國中夜補校,以服務下一代的年輕人,計畫獲核准後,1973年六月夜補校正式成立。在正式宣布成立及全力向社會大眾宣導後,第一批學生在1973年九月有兩百餘人入學。接著,歷任校長繼續將夜補校視為學校整體教育的一環,經營得有聲有色,每位繼任校長都對夜補校教育有著不凡的貢獻,因此中壢國中夜補校在地方上既享有傑出的聲名,亦獲得社區人士的敬重。

夜補校的時代已經啟動,現在失學的一代也漸從校園中銷跡,只剩下少數五、六十歲以上的老年人仍想圓他們的受教夢。近十年來,外籍配偶増添新血於我們的學習團隊,成為補校學生重要來源。外籍配偶及他們的子女已是我們社會中的一份子,因此提升外籍配偶的知識水平,讓他們早日認識此地文化、適應此地社會生活,並有足夠的知識能力來教育他們的子女,對他們自身及子女都是極其重要的教育任務。補校有幸承此重責,並將盡我們之所能。

補校的另一項任務,則是再教育這些曾經流浪的國中中輟生。學校教育是改進青少年心智、能力以及行為的最有效途徑。這些青少年大都是在社會中翻滾,屢遇措折,才重返校園。教導這群青少年確實須要更大的愛心與耐力,而教育的使命更是不放棄任何一個孩子,因此我們欣然悅納。事實上,這些年來,我們也已經挽回了許多孩子,因為這些青少年信任老師勝於父母。

終身學習力是現代社會進步的指標,因此補校全體老師除了不斷自我精進成長外,還會進一步多觀摩他校的經營成效,並吸收其優點,繼續提升補校的教學品質。我們至誠希望我們的畢業生能繼續為社會做出貢獻,我們也將盡全力確保中壢國中補校能永續經營。

A Briefing on the Affiliated Continuation School

1. Brief History

In the earlier years, Taiwan economy was not as prosperous as it is now. Most families could not afford to send their children to continue their education beyond primary schools, either because they did not have financial resource to pay tuition or they needed their children to help them subsist on farms or factories. Without a solid knowledge base from which to grow with the ever changing technology, those young men and women were ill equipped to meet the challenges of modern society. Based on the belief that school should provide education for students as well as a community liaison, the late principal Tsai proposed in 1973 to found a night school that would serve the youth of the last generation. The proposal was approved, and the night school was founded in June of 1973. After the initial announcement and a highly publicized campaign, the first classes, composed of more than two hundred students, began in September 1973. The era of the night school had started. The following five principals continued to offer night classes as an integral part of school education. Each of the previous principals made remarkable contribution to night school education. As a result, the school has gained both an excellent reputation and garnered in much respect in our community.

For now the generation that many people lost the opportunity to accept junior- high education has nearly faded from the campus. Only few old students still stay in night school to fulfill their dream of being educated. During the recent ten years, the foreign spouses have increasingly infused new blood into our learning team and become the main sources of our new students. These foreign spouses and their children have become the members of our society. It’s an important educational mission to promote the knowledge level of these foreign spouses so that they can get acquainted with the culture here earlier, adapt the life of our society and have enough knowledge to educate their children. The night school take this educational responsibility and we will do all we can.

Another mission for the night school to take is to reeducate the stray teenagers that dropped out from the schools several years ago; these teenagers come back to the campus because they have been frustrated in the society. It is widely approved that the school education is the most efficient path to improve the thinking, competence, and conduct of the teenagers. Teaching these teenagers is somewhat toilsome. But the mission of education doesn’t allow the school and teachers to abandon any student. We have to accept and help them. We have saved many teenagers, because these teenagers trust the teachers more than their parents.

The faculty of our night school will inspect and learn from other night schools, emulate their merits, and keep on promoting our teaching quality. We expect our students have the ability to make more contributions to our society. And we will do our best to ensure the persisting management of our night school.
