07/17/2025: Our paper, “Towards predicting collective performance in multi-robot teams” with Dr. Xin and Dr. Dames has been accepted for publication in IEEE Transactions on Robotics (T-RO), 2025. 

06/02/2015: I joined the Centre for Transformative Garment Production to start my postdoctoral journey. 

05/26/2025: My paper, “SCOPE: Stochastic Cartographic Occupancy Prediction Engine for Uncertainty-Aware Dynamic Navigation” with Dr. Dames has been accepted for publication in IEEE Transactions on Robotics (T-RO), 2025. 

05/23/2025: I participated in the 2025 ICRA Arena Challenge competition held at the ICRA 2025 Advances in Social Navigation: Planning, HRI, and Beyond workshop, and my DRL-VO navigation policy placed 1st in the social navigation benchmark in crowded, dynamic, and collaborative environments.

09/13/2024: Our psychology paper, “Too Close for Comfort? Navigating Personal Space in Human-Robot Encounters", organized by Lindsay,  has been accepted for publication in the Northeast Business & Economics Association (NBEA) Conference, 2024.

07/22/2024: I successfully defended my Ph.D. dissertation: Robot Navigation in Crowded Dynamic Scenes. Thanks to my advisor Dr. Dames and my committee members (Dr. Jacobs, Dr. Soudbakhsh, Dr. Xiao, and Dr. Obeid) for their support and help.

03/29/2024: I was invited to give a talk at the  Human-Centered Autonomy Lab at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) titled “Robot Navigation in Crowded Dynamic Scenes.” 

02/21/2024: I was invited to give a graduate seminar presentation at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Temple University titled “Robotic Navigation in Crowded Dynamic Scenes.”

12/02/2023:  I helped Dr. Dames set up and show our Multi-Robot Collision Avoidance Interactive Demonstration for the kids again, presented at the Franklin Institute's  Franklin Frost event.

10/05/2023: My work, “DRL-VO: Learning to Navigate Through Crowded Dynamic Scenes Using Velocity Obstacles” with Dr. Dames has been accepted for lightning talk and poster presentation in the 2nd Workshop on Social Robot Navigation: Advances and Evaluation at IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS), 2023.

08/30/2023: My paper, “Stochastic Occupancy Grid Map Prediction in Dynamic Scenes” with Dr. Dames has been accepted for publication in the Conference on Robot Learning (CoRL), 2023. 

08/01/2023: I was invited to give a talk at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) titled “Robot Navigation in Crowded Dynamic Scenes.”

03/07/2023: I successfully defended my Ph.D. dissertation proposal and was officially elevated to Ph.D. candidate. Thanks to my advisor and committee members for their help.

02/20/2023: My paper, “DRL-VO: Learning to Navigate Through Crowded Dynamic Scenes Using Velocity Obstacles” with Dr. Dames has been accepted for publication in IEEE Transactions on Robotics (T-RO), 2023. 

12/07/2022:  Our paper, “Autonomous Ground Navigation in Highly Constrained Spaces: Lessons Learned From the Benchmark Autonomous Robot Navigation Challenge at ICRA 2022 [Competitions]", organized by Dr. Xiao,  has been accepted for publication in IEEE Robotics & Automation Magazine (RAM), 2022.

10/29/2022:  I helped Dr. Dames create, debug, and set up the ZombieBot Obstacle Course (a Multi-Robot Collision Avoidance Interactive Demonstration) for the kids, presented at the Franklin Institute's Franklin Fright event.

07/05/2022:  I participated in the Summer High School Internship/Mentorship Program, mentoring two high school students in basic robotics.

05/26/2022:  I participated in the Benchmark Autonomous Robot Navigation (BARN) Challenge competition at ICRA 2022, and my DRL-VO navigation policy placed 1st in the simulation competition and 3rd in the final physical competition.

11/19/2021:  Our paper, “The Semantic PHD Filter for Multi-class Target Tracking: From Theory to Practice” with Dr. Chen and Dr. Dames has been accepted for publication in Robotics and Autonomous Systems (RAS), 2021.

07/09/2021: My work, “Safe and Fast Navigation Through Crowded Dynamic Environments” with Pujie and Dr. Dames has been accepted for lightning talk and poster presentation in Workshop on Perception and Control for Autonomous Navigation in Crowded, Dynamic Environments at Robotics: Science and Systems (RSS), 2021.
