Zhandos Ybrayev is a Deputy Director at the Financial Stability and Research Department of the National Bank of Kazakhstan. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Massachusetts – Amherst. His research interests are in the areas of macroeconomic theory, monetary policy, financial stability and economic development. Primarily, in his research, Zhandos explores the interactions of monetary policy with financial markets, fiscal policy, macroprudential regulation and long-term economic growth. His scholarly papers have appeared in journals such as International Review of Applied Economics, Macroeconomics and Finance in Emerging Market Economies, European Journal of Economics and Economic Policies: Intervention, International Journal of Development Issues, Comparative Economic Studies, Journal of Banking Regulation, among others.
