1.) I have designed the perfect home -- not merely a house, it's a creation -- an innovative marvel of minimal excess, essential comfort & luxury and maximum enjoyment. Based upon universal principles, it fulfills expectations of how life ought to be lived - pleasurably! Meticulously considered to restrict chores, it is functional and energy conservative - chiefly that of its occupants. Time cannot be manufactured, less bother however, can avail greater percentage thereof in quality & leisure. An inspired home, it is suitable for location in either hemisphere, by inverting its North-South axis (E & W facades concord unaltered). From resort to city suburb, wide ranging type of property can accommodate the compact dwelling. Fashionable in a timeless way, it would appeal to the trend-setting modern lifestyle market. An exotic rental, or owned, it boasts excellent entertainment qualities - ideal for the executive, the retiree intent on relaxation, the holiday maker requiring comprehensive facilities, or a family wishing for vacation-like living, every day, at home.


2.) Remarkably, application of the circle, which has influenced human existence so tremendously, has largely been neglected in the home makers fair. Rather than technical obstacles presented by construction, poverty of creative flair generated the mindset of living in boxes, hence evolution thereof to worthy status was unduly stunted. Dictated by demand for its prominent facade requiring exposure to Sunlight, select rooms compete for position and thus the average home we have grown accustomed to, usually adopts a rectangular shape - conducive to producing excessive corners. Furniture & fittings occupying wall space in between such tend to create a void -- 'dead corners', or worse, the dormant space invites accumulation of junk -- alternatively placed in a corner, such objects often encounter interference by the inevitable ajar door. Despite open plan trends that connect the kitchen with dining & family rooms, one toddles off into... a passage, which is generally narrow because the wastage is obvious to the architect but deemed unavoidable. Mostly lost to natural light and confining, it consumes energy and material: foundation, flooring, walling, ceiling, roofing, paint, lighting & heating - expenditure that purely facilitates ones transfer from one meaningful place of being to another, by walking... It generally comprises the spine of a home, sometimes occupying the side. Branching into an L-shape, a T, or combination thereof, the passage could not exist without doorways - its sole purpose is allowing such a place to lead to & from, other than directly between adjoining cubes.


3.) Primitive societies apart, circular habitation is rare and successful encapsulation of that wonderful geometric form more so - few exceptions, mostly incurring of grotesque expense, attain pleasing aesthetica. Of course, magnificent towering buildings of round shape are evident the World over, however, they generally constitute numerous hotel rooms or partitioned office space -- sharing the same level and repeated on every floor -- with great many occupants collectively dependent on a mutual access. I advocate a dwelling, that by contrast, exclusively accommodates the individual, a pair or average family and could well serve an appointed commune -- maximum of three couples, ideally two -- to disperse the cost for the pleasure. For those appreciative of personal space, it is not an apartment in a condo but a majestic monolithic structure that dreams are made of... a series of non-concentric interlocking curves and niches proportionately combining in an arc, that translates as some 33m in length and providing a grand periphery. Neither in plan nor elevation, does it register as a round home - evading the flying saucer stigma, a common consequence of failed attempts. Visually stimulating, the structure is section cut and not of uniform height but staggered & sloped instead and facilitating of vertical interior volume - an important aspect, often skimped in contemporary housing. By pursuing natural walkways and minimizing necessity of doors, the 'box conglomerate' status quo is eclipsed by a contender of masterpiece magnitude.


4.) Striving for excellence, uninspiring architecture is shown the door, welcoming instead innovative and illustrious design - out of the box thinking... Wealth of experience and an intricate study of human behaviour is applied with fresh perspective in consideration of the primaries: food, shelter & clothing and elevation thereof, in a pioneering approach, to the status of exotic. Typified of exceptional ideas that appreciably advanced human culture and evoking the question: why was it not thought of before? - well, God's gift was date stamped 1961 and maturation is a journey :-) Revolutionary, the concept is developed from the interior out, conforming to realistic human requirements, in highly refined format to satisfaction of the discerning and progressive thinking. Successful implementation requires ethics, where beauty and practicality thrive harmoniously in coexistence with play. I hold the key to that formula -- unlocking of Pandora's Box -- by which the humble round dwelling is rendered an extreme make-over. An intricate geometrical arrangement with great appeal, emphasis is on effective space utilization and uncluttered comfort. Devoid of narrow walled passages and the consequent maze, unison minimizes effort - back & forth. In what is otherwise a compact footprint, expanse is accentuated by ensuring large tract remains unobscured three dimensionally to reveal a spacious modern home, rooted in circular principles -- marginally exceeding 10m in diameter and occupying two levels -- admirable and original, not handicapped by contesting facades, it is simply magnificent all round. "You're just too cool to be true, I can't take my eyes off of you..."


5.) Subjecting the disk, incorporative of arc degrees, to expression in terms of square... meterage is rather inadequate - the two forms solely reconcile in tangent, with much area disproportionate. Occupying a foundation of only 85 square meters, accordingly requires a small property: 16 paces, repeated at right angle, which caters for a driveway that smartly hugs the circumference of the dwelling. Although not intended for the compulsive hoarder, the entry-level unit of approx.115 square meters, none-the-less provides unsaturated living area. If by judging figures, it sounds... small, rest assured such is not the case (perusal of the plans will substantiate). Inclusion of up to two more bedrooms and a third bathroom, escalate the figures to 170 squares - exceeding that would be quite superfluous, counter to the objective of convenience. Flowing and graceful, curvature avail actual liveable space. Total elimination of straight lines, right angles or flat vertical surface is not desired, nor is round furniture specifically. Some curves are pronounced, others more subtle or suggestive and even virtual, such as transcending a physical perpendicular boundary - achieved by vertically correlating a series of recessed ceiling lights, with the arc separating two types of flooring. Encircled by the former arrangement and absorbing minimal volume, a mesmerizing centerpiece of attraction, comprised of piano key inspired steps -- of free floating impression -- link the upper level.


6.) The design provides peace of mind with the ease of 'lock-up & go'. Strategically positioned windows play a key role in the character of the building and are instrumental in temperature regulation -- limited window dimensions facilitate security, while retaining the desired theme -- a determining factor: SquareBlock or NauticalPorthole anticipated to find most appeal. Aperture enhancement is achieved by a surrounding prone plaster trim, SquaredCircle or CelestialDiamond cater for alternative concepts, with BoltNut or RoundDaisy providing more unique display. Respectively, grouped or individually positioned for particular effect, on the exterior the frame is emphasized by contrasting tone, or more subtly, blending with the dominant wall color - the view of reality from the interior is thereby sublimely picture-framed. The entire structure is an embodiment work of art, therefore, without risk of incurring a sterile look, objects with mere decorative, or ornamental attributes are best avoided. Likewise, conventional application of curtains - no worries about glare interfering with the HighDefinition flat screen, which is affixed in a recess, with well considered vantage.


7.) Setting it further apart from other houses, all of its various areas receive natural light. Glass brick facades and glass doors are employed selectively. In tune with our MilkyWay Galaxy and in alignment with Earth's rotational axis, it functions as a Solar-Stellar-Home. In unison with the perceived movement of the Sun - due to diurnal motion, which by night, progresses the Orion constellation along the Celestial Equator. The three celebrated stars that comprise Orion's belt, come into play via windows symbolic of their ascent and descent. Dissecting the circular core of the dwelling, a prominent straight wall, angled skyward, is indicative of the Celestial Pole, which of course tells us how Earth is orientated in space. Curving in one direction from this wall and slanted, the matching section of roofline traces an arc across the sky that merges with the horizon - indicative of the path of the celestial bodies from East to West. Connectivity of open to the sky area within the perimeter of the structure is a revelation -- effectively entered as if another room, the domain manifests serenity -- soul enrichment at the heart of the home: Yin & Yang harmony and the divine physical sensation of immersion in the magical element of water (para.16). Adding ambience to a minimalistic, yet elegant style, detail pertaining lighting appeases accordingly. Turn on the music... "you'd be like heaven to touch, I want to own :-) you so much!"


8.) All cupboards are of similar design, with the leading edges displaying a substantial profile horizontally & vertically -- frame and shelving alike -- forming a continuous surface, 50mm in thickness and devoid of gaps. There are no drawers, hinges & doors fitted, nor backing - although cost saving, the consideration is chiefly function and display. Retractable and louvre doors are employed for grocery storage solely. Wardrobe units rest on a recessed plinth, whereas those fitted in bathrooms and the kitchen are suspended, by substantial clearance above the floor - appearing framed all round by wall. Employing dense particle board (Supawood), the units are ivory lacquered to contrast with a colour wall (or inversely), alternatively stonecrete plastered on exterior to blend with wall texture. Making a debut, supplementary storage, in concept comparable to the food & drinks trolleys shuttled in the isle of an airliner - only many voyage miles ahead: comprising an unobtrusive mono rail, discreetly integrated with the flooring and neatly separating the mix of wood laminate, tiles and carpet. It is made up of round steel wire affixed to flat plate -- chrome or anodized -- and set flush into the screed. Two in-line mounted under carriage wheels are of hard wearing nylon with bearings and grooved pulley-like, whereby they are guided. The other two rubber tread for traction & sound reduction. Measuring 4,4m in diameter, the central track nearly completes a full circle. Another, commencing in the straight section of kitchen and past the rectangular dining table covers some 8m. Diverting from there, the third track deploys a carriage along the outdoor perimeter. Novel and efficient, the mobile cabinets don't require steering - minimal friction allows effortless manual shuttling, or by remote control if equipped accordingly. Dimension specs L900mm x H1000 x W500mm - fitted with utility racks & shelving, retracting shutter door and a stack-on tray.


9.) Providing storage for provisions & condiments, a principal carriage is housed in an aperture below the Eye Level Oven, which is adjacent to the refrigeration with integrated ice maker (both flush fitting appliances respectively enclosed in a masonry recess). Commencing from there, assigned to a straight back & forth route, the cabinet passes under the stairs in service of the dining area. In stand-by with the coffee maker, it facilitates the left-overs bag and retrieves the aftermath of a meal to the dishwasher & sink. Its stack-on tray is compatible with a custom coffee table (an accessory) and the 'Espresso Edition' home allows its transfer in rendezvous with the outdoors carriage. The latter commutes via a round table with chairs, to a bench seat alongside the jet spa. When not on call it shelters indoors. Even more impressive, the cabinet operating on the circular funicular route constitutes an endearing bar - well endowed with favourites, ever ready and never tiring, it comes to where you vegetate on a recliner in front of the big screen TV... "I love you baby!" It calls on the fridge to replenish cold beer and top up the ice bucket. The carriage passes the ChezLounge, set in an alcove and stops by the clusters of ComfyChairs & Ottomans in the lounge. It can welcome arrivals in the reception hall with a tequila :-) or sherry for the more sedate. It collects the order-in meal at the door and can even cart shopping from your vehicle. Its designated route terminates in the kitchen, where it docks conveniently alongside the wash-up area. It loiters smartly around the winery, where a raised table & chairs facilitate tasting... sessions and doubles as a wine steward for the dining table - an 8 seater with a 1,8m long bench recessed in a flat walled area. Upholstered chairs make up the balance of seating, suitably supplementing lounging.


10.) On promotion is a charming dwelling that will seduce the building industry... Adaptable to terrain or setting of any nature, Globally, the HG Dirker SignatureHome combines intimacy with luxury in a range of playful themes for individualism. Development of a software package is foreseen to facilitate client interaction with the fun of selecting features, fittings, finishes and colours. Besides a restaurant grade crockery & cutlery set, not every item promoted by those regrinding infomercials is a requirement. Our era of abundant variety of refined services is conducive of a care-free lifestyle. Synonymous with a hotel stay, collectibles are discouraged - essentially requiring replenishing of consumables. With exclusion of the bubbly to share the large fridge with favourite food delicacies, the 6 cases of choice cultivars for the 72 bottle wine feature and stocking of the liquor trolley, everything is at home - move in with shopping and suitcase.. even better: (baggage wears one down) dump the entire former wardrobe, have the supplies delivered, purchase a new outfit current with the season and cross the threshold to an exciting new way of living! Impressive, the main door is of large dimensions and pivot mounted -- comprising wide surface panelling, horizontal or diagonal, separated by a narrow & shallow groove -- envisaged in a solid colour of choice in gloss or satin. A SignatureDesign gate, set back at a distance provides a secure buffer and sideway-sliding, it adjoins a counterpart, where the two sections combine in an eye catching art piece, with flat background wall. Crucially, it incorporates a giant pizza slot :-) An additional doorway can be brought into service for events, by utilizing a versatile dual aperture. ArtDeco security gate, complimentary in style to the main entrance, is hinged on exterior (movable printers'tray-style shelf unit is an interior option).


11.) Slicing the vertical height at angle, the slanted roofline presents large wall surface to the Sun, while preventing excessive heat on top. The upper level consequently expands to double volume height - sloping to one side with spectacular swooping arc. Set into the curved wall, in an upward step pattern symbolic of the OrionBelt stars, three inter-spaced windows welcome the rising Sun. Dedicated entirely to plush bedroom suite and ablutions, the area incorporates a bed-sit that exit onto a 3/4 round balcony -- cable or glass paneling & s/steel trim -- at the prow of the straight wall, that defines the PolarAxis. Afternoon Sun bask the interior through a grouping of three vertically staggered windows, set into this wall - a Sundowner comes to mind... the reclining deck chair under the umbrella on the balcony is perfect. Ideal during winter months, noon Sun warms the studio lounge through the North facing glass door that leads onto the balcony (roller blind). High above it, where the curved wall joins the straight length, a small aperture is butted up against its flat surface for a special effect - occurring on equinox day, when our host Star is over the equator and at zenith, light passes through the building. In matching style to the showpiece located at the hub below, the 'Espresso' has an external staircase that leads from the bedroom balcony to the ZenGarden. The other two units incorporate a deck on one level.


12.) The interior is conducive of a marvelous array of SignatureDecor themes -- CarnivalNight or NocturnalDelight -- finishing include MidniteBlue & SilverTrim / SatinBlack, PoppyRed, Purple & GoldTrim / PearlWhite. The custom bed option incorporates side tables & linen stowage and is surrounded by a touch reminiscent of ArabianNights: neutralising overwhelming volume and aiding peaceful sleep, at any time, a semi-round canopy cozily encloses a spacious perimeter around the bed. Ceiling mounted, a metal frame is draped with exotic silks & textured fabric complimentary to the theme - tapering tent-like into a frill-covered curtain runner with mixed drops. Intimate & romantic, or drawn for recovery from the jet lag incurred by the Paris - London - New York, or Tokyo cosmetics shopping spree :-) The dressing area occupies a window niche, alongside which, a his/hers vanity setup -- backstage theatre-style & topped by striped canvass awning -- is within the enclosure. On the opposite side of the bed, semi-open box shelving support the canopy and partly enclose the stairwell. Toward the foot end, staggered side panels of the back-to-back wardrobing facilitate a full length, 3panel zig-zag mirror with infinite image effect. Perched atop this broad peninsula, that extends from the high curved wall a distance back and center to the trio of windows, is the designated meditation spot... Levitation not required - attached to the 2.2m high cupboard and sideways sliding, is one of those library type ladders with curved handrails, such as encountered upon exiting the pool. Then still, the volume surges overhead for ones aura to soar.


13.) Classical influence, rendered streamlined to modern-lifestyle, transpire in a lavish assortment of geometrical elements: on the upper level an opaque half vaulted dome brightens the dressing area, that inter-leads via double louver doors to the salon equipped bathroom, which is standard to the 'Espresso'. Set into its Sunny exterior wall, towering glass brick enclaves the sleek bath tub - the black & white checquered floor on which it rests unassisted, borders the neon carpet of the vanity area in sharp definition. The very same half round enclave in the 'Grande Edition', laid out with a mosaic tile circular bath, exudes Roman style opulence -- a rectangular protrusion incorporates bench seating -- contained behind glass frontage, steam-room style and inset with frameless glass door, it also functions as a shower. A mirroring masonry enclave, worthy of Caesar's throne, hosts the porcelain seat (Japanese option). Nearby and beside a pigeon hole towel unit, opaque / white round basin is mounted on a column. For proximity to the adjoining deck area with sauna, relocation of the washing machine & stack-on tumble dryer from ground level to this facility is possible. Either of these two bathroom configurations is suitable for the 'Double Edition'. An impressive feature, the central cupola -- comprised of a quarter section, intended for effect and not the WhiteHouse -- reaches three floors high, and is situated over the staircase landing, partially cut into the master bedroom, where a column lends support. Its concave surface beckons Renaissance art, or blanc ivory finished to facilitate temporary effect by projection. For the 'Grande', reinforced columns are required externally - one extending from ground level, assisted by two more that fit in the first floor volume to support the penthouse. Situated overhead of the slanted kitchen roof, which could thus be glass... and separated by a void, the underside of the bedroom floor slab is designated artist canvass (together with various other wall surface) - inviting uninhibited creativity.


14.) Unlike the conventional house that can be increased without limit, the circular habitation constitutes defined dimensions - if too large, the curvature becomes flattened and the effect lost. Generating 144 square meters on average, excluding choice automobile area, it could nonetheless be crowned 'the little house that has it all'. Capable of catering for guests in multiple dozens, without congestion - if you like mingling in a crowd. In addition to the ground level restroom (omitting elaboration, however, suffice to say attributes of both versions alike, exhibit extensive features and function). More facilities are at their disposal with potential of a fourth, to absorb the binge. Not a sprawling mansion, rather a monumental PlayHouse with optimum utilization of area, emphasis is on detail and essential requirements. Thoroughly encapsulating of informal grandeur, the HGD DesignConcept is rooted in a primary base plan, comprising mutual basic features from which 1; 2; or 3 bed units are derived -- 113sq.m, 147sq.m & 170sq.m respectively -- drive through garage adds 26sq.m ('Grande' 45sq.m).


15.) The overall footprint is small, enabling a thermometer style driveway - smooth tar surfaced, or cement-set pebbles with decorative finish, providing a continues surface to keep natural growth at bay. The encircling drive facilitates flow & VIP drop-off for glitzy functions: RedCarpet zone under 3m diameter round balcony -- exclusive feature to 'Double' -- with correlating down-lighting and mozaic mirror-clad tunnel-way entry :-) The twin-vehicle garage, with retracting doors at both ends and sporting a RacingTheme, is located in proximity of the main entrance. Unlike the other two types of homes, the 'Espresso' does not require a wrap-around drive and instead has a double, open-sided carport -- against the wall that displays the ArtDeco security gate, adjacent the entrance patio -- with overhead timber bulwark supported on masonry columns. The drive-thru PitStop, incorporating of the driveway that hug its circumference and 180° opposite to its regular entrance, the top of the range 'Grande' has direct entry to the house - discreet from Paparazzi, or the cops... The roof slab over the Grande's automobile port (or boathouse) boasts a sky dome to flaunt the prized machines below :-) Observable from there also, Limo arrivals at the RedZone BlingEntrace - luxurious and versatile it doubles as a function venue. Moreover gaining thereby, although the circular balcony is absorbed in the process, the pool deck area is doubled.


16.) Roughly representing 1/4 of the base structure, in all three units, outdoors recreational area, is smartly incorporated within the dwellings' parameter (in two types of units, additionally secure above ground level). Limited labour hose-down maintenance, devoid of soil and lawn, the 'Espresso Edition' offers a SignatureLayout ZenGarden, comprising a sand box and pebble pits, portrays peace and tranquility - shaped concrete depressions in the foundation screed and provided with drainage, separate loose stones by variety of size & colour. Uniting with the bottom end of the exterior staircase, stilted steps facilitate max lateral visibility. Remaining area is cement & pebble pave, inset with timber sleepers that lead to the WC and a JacuzziTub / KoiPond respecitvely. Drop in a Bonzai, if that's a fancy. Upper level windows look onto the outdoor scene. The BeachHouse theme, with timber decking, caters for a pool. Potted growth can be added (or the entire area converted to an atrium :-) Flat surfaced double volume wall form two wings, that make for a great HangingGarden, GraffitiArt or a FairyLight cascade. Porthole fitted or diamond block, the tall rounded & domed structure, wedged between, invites broad LightHouse striping. The perimeter arc is enclosed by a wall of standard roof height, WavySignatureTheme finished (plaster scrape / mosaic) and incorporating select apertures. Alternatively left open and only demarcated by a curved high-level, reinforced beam with down lights, or semi-open with stainless steel balustrade railing & glass panels / cable - depending on the environs. In all three types of the HGD ConceptHome, open to the sky area has convenient access to an elaborate restroom, with provision for laundry appliances.


17.) The design, with numerous cost and maintenance limiting attributes, is particularly beneficial to upmarket cluster developments, geared toward the middle & higher income bracket. Facilitating of close grouping, the dwellings do not demand individual enclosure and only require boundary walling of the common property. VillageComplex housing, with one; two; and three bedroom units, could incorporate a central or mixed theme. Versatile beyond the usual suburban environment, or a park on the outskirts, the setting for such could constitute unkempt land, sand, coastal reserve such as an estuary, or calm water marina (ref. para 19). Enabled for external access, an alcove integral to the kitchen, accommodates cylinder gas and bagged refuse. Provision is made for a central heating burner in one of two locations. The energy conscious can select the extent of harnessing Sunlight and rainwater (storage tank provision). Key to aesthetic considerations, the slim roof (slate, corrugated sheeting, synthetic tile etc.) rests on protruding, finished beams - ceiling clad in-between, with shallow insulated internal volume, thereby remaining visible. Slanting upward toward the equator, the rooftop minimizes undesirable heat while simultaneously enabling perpendicular erection of Solar panels - curved in a quarter round and manually, or auto, adjusted for exposure between Sunrise & Sunset. It could screen geysers from sight and if enclosed at the top, from the elements also. Water supply & waste is grouped in one sector for obvious benefit. The structure requires standard building industry material and conventional construction method, however, is well suited for adaptation to alternative energy sources and new materials, including 3D printing...


18.) The entry level version is sizeable, constituting a duplex with fabulous en-suite bedroom and a bed-sit guest enclosure. It automatically boasts two comprehensive ablution facilities and by shuffling decks, a spacious second bedroom is introduced on ground level. It can equally compete for 'master' designation and also incorporates lounging area - set into a niche with checker block window backdrop, over which a sheet of water cascades. The open air quarter is accordingly relocated to the level above, where it combines with the balcony, gaining some space, a third WC and infinity-type pool -- the source of the water drop -- shape suggestive of a key hole with immersed seating (of course the trolley track runs by it :-). Length extension is feasible. Although the 'Espresso' and 'Double' are anticipated to cater for the majority market, a slashed of extravagance kit-type 'BareShell' for self-styling is an option. Top of the range 'Grande' offers a third bedroom with en-suite heads, alternatively, it could function as a studio for the creative, or other home-based practice. Sunny, double sliding glass doors open onto a high-level secluded balcony -- oblong, it extends from the flat port-holed profile comprising the domed 'lighthouse' structure -- slightly pointed and somewhat protruding with s/steel railing & cable, resembling the bow of an ocean liner. Port & starboard lights authenticate and minimalistic HighSeas Signature ArtScene, framed-in by the East facade below, completes the illusion. Optional comprehensive bathroom would incur a slab over the West wing and produce yet another deck - tending toward overboard, however, providing of grand views. Marginally surpassing of the height already established by the cupola in all three types, the penthouse entails another staircase (curved 180°) from the first level - a half circle enclosure, situated over the entrance patio. As a substitute, a two-person opaque capsule hoist is envisioned at the core of the interior and would also bring the ground level mobile cabinet into vertical service.


19.) Significant of the HGD DesignConcept, in context of changing climate & rising sea level, it could be produced by 3D printing as an 'AquaticHome Edition', of which the foundation is compartmentalized to provide buoyancy and incorporate bilges. Well-suited to calm water, the drive-thru adapts as a snazzy boat house. Furthermore, the flying car is poised for introduction and a landing pad is not out of the question. Even then the sky is not the limit - no property required :o) the concept can function off-World... familiarity of your terrestrial habitation in space (a more comprehensive VISION of such utilization is compiled in a separate document, that ought to find appeal with entrepreneurial outfits such as Space-X or the Mars colony crowd). On location component printed and robotic assembled, comprised of capsule dwellings, separated by dual ceiling-floor at 1° slant, some 360 units curve into the shape of an enormous doughnut - impressive eh? The Signature SpaceCake could rotate for gravitational requirements and comprise condos -- elite or pleb neighborhood' -- just like on Earth. CLAUSES (keeping it nice & simple :-)
