Yong Zeng is a Professor at Southeast University, China, with a joint appointment at Purple Mountain Laboratories. His research focuses on AI-enabled 6G wireless communications, intelligent low-altitude wireless networks, UAV communications and sensing, channel knowledge maps, and integrated sensing and communication.
He received his B.Eng. with First-Class Honors and Ph.D. from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and previously held research appointments at the National University of Singapore and a lectureship at the University of Sydney. He is an IEEE Fellow and an AAIS Fellow, and was named a Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher for seven consecutive years (2019–2025).
His honors include the IEEE Marconi Prize Paper Awards in Wireless Communications (2024 and 2020), IEEE Communications Society Heinrich Hertz Awards (2020 and 2017), and IEEE ICC Best Paper Awards (2026 and 2021). His work combines communication theory, signal processing, and experimental validation, including open-source OFDM-ISAC and channel knowledge map testbeds.
