Welcome to Dr. Cang Zhao's website.

Dr. Cang Zhao is currently an assistant professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Tsinghua University. He received his Ph.D. degree in Structural Engineering from the University of California, San Diego in 2015, his master’s degree in Condensed Matter Physics from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2011, and his bachelor’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Science and Technology Beijing in 2009. Prior to current position, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher from 2016 to 2019 at the Advanced Photon Source, Argonne National Laboratory. Dr. Zhao’s major research interests lie in metal additive manufacturing and high-speed synchrotron and neutron characterization. His work has made fundamental contributions to the understanding and controlling of microstructures and defects in laser fusion of metals. He has published more than forty peer-reviewed papers in journals such as Reviews of Modern Physics, Science, Physical Review X, and Chinese Science Bulletin. He has achieved the IAAM Young Scientist Medal from International Association of Advanced Materials, the Outstanding Postdoctoral Performance Award in Applied Science from Argonne National Laboratory, and the President Award of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.


赵沧,清华大学机械工程系助理教授、特别研究员、博士生导师。2015年博士毕业于美国加州大学圣地亚哥分校结构工程专业。2016年至2019年在美国阿贡国家实验室从事博士后研究。主要研究方向为金属增材制造的关键机理及其应用。代表性论文发表在《Reviews of Modern Physics》、《Science》(两篇)、《Physical Review X》、《科学通报》(中文)等期刊上。
