Zazen Capital believes the path to success lies in confronting the most brutal facts about one’s current trading mistakes, weaknesses and unwanted results. And retains absolute faith that any trader or investor can overcome temporary difficulties to achieve and sustain profitable results. With persistence and determination there is no such thing as failure… only feedback. Expanding inherent and acquired trading skills, knowledge, experience, and good habits through a disciplined process of thoughtful practice will lead to consistent, sustained profitability. The components of success are discipline, flexibility, thoughtful practice, and risk management. Additionally, understanding one’s psychology is essential because all observations move through our emotional filters before meaning and relevance is assigned. A commitment to self-awareness and self-regulation is critical to success. Zazen Capital believes promoting financial freedom and self-reliance instead of collective mediocrity and dependence is a moral obligation.

Awareness & clarity through expanding one's self awareness and trading knowledge is essential for trading success. The pursuit of continuous improvement, excellence, and mastery pave the way for developing one's inner intelligence and extrinsic common sense. An enthusiastic attitude and empowering mindset combined with persistence and unwavering determination are critical in providing the psychological resilience necessary to survive the plethora of routine trading challenges. Other often overlooked components of success are gratitude, appreciation, and humility. From these wisdom, compassion, and patience emerge. The innate habit of blame dissipates and a sense of responsibility and accountability for one's trading results grows. This, in turn, allows traders to specifically define effective corrective action and ultimately improve profitability.

Children’s Therapy Center is the largest and most comprehensive independent nonprofit pediatric therapy program in Washington State. Since 1979, They've provided essential services for children with special needs including physical, occupational and speech therapy; early intervention services; and parent education and support.

My trading philosophy is simple. I approach the markets from a contrarian perspective. I challenge mindlessly accepted axioms held by most market participants. Many traders attempt to control risk through diversification. But today, more than ever, many financial instruments and world markets are highly correlated and interdependent. Diversification is not an unparalleled panacea for risk. Extreme discipline coupled with intense focus is the preeminent precedent for risk control. This is what allows me to exploit high reward opportunities.

By developing simple, robust, high probability edges, I narrow my portfolio of candidates to those that have the potential for explosive and outlier moves in my favor. Stocks, ETFs and futures are selected with the highest potential for out-performance.

Just as important as exceptional alternative investment ideas, so is having a select group of traders that share our beliefs that outside the box ideas, contrarian approaches, simple and robust strategies can lead to exceptional performance. Being supported by other disciplined traders is a tremendous edge.
