Engr. Zasiah Tafheem is holding the position of Assistant Professor in Ahsanullah University of Science & Technology, Dhaka, Bangladesh. She completed her B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET) and  M.Sc. in Civil & Structural Engineering from the same institution BUET. She is now serving as a Lab-in-charge of Strength of Materials Laboratory of Department of Civil Engineering along with her other routine works. She is also a member of Students Advisory Committee of the same department. In addition to that, she is a life member of IEB (Institution of Engineers Bangladesh) and member of BUET Alumni Association. As a teacher her top priority is to teach her students with the best of her ability providing them with up-to-date technical knowledge, and to teach them moral and ethics so that they can serve the community and can raise the name and fame of the university at home and abroad.

• • Lab-in-charge, Strength of Materials Lab, Dept. of Civil Engg., AUST 

 (From May 2023 - till date; January 2012 to Sept 2018) 

-Making arrangements for purchasing the Consumable items for academic and research purpose; Also Monitoring the Operation and maintenance of  the Digital Universal Testing Machine (UTM) of capacity 1000kN,  Rockwell Hardness Tester, Digital  pendulum Impact testing machine.

-Involved in the test setup  and carried out  the  experiments of  CE212 : Mechanics of Solids  Sessional with the help of students during Spring  semester 2018 ( in absence of lab attendant) ; Experiments include hardness test, compression  test, bending test, tensile strength test, direct shear test, impact test  of different  materials. 

-Also  conducting Compression  test, Splitting tensile strength test of concrete cylinders and flexure test of concrete beams using UTM  for research purpose.  

• •  Lab-in-charge, Hydraulics and Fluid Mechanics Lab, Dept. of Civil Engg., AUST   

 (Since Spring 2010  to December 2011)

-Involved in the installation of equipments , in the demonstration and carried out almost all  the  experiments of  CE272 : Fluid  Mechanics  Sessional for  two semesters ( in absence of lab attendants) in Hydraulics and Fluid Mechanics Lab, Dept. of Civil Engg., AUST.    

-Served as a Trainer in a Training Program held in the laboratories of Civil Engg. Department of AUST for the improvement of the skill of the lab  attendants.  [selected as a resource person for Hydraulics and Fluid Mechanics Lab]

-Monitored the installation work of the flume and verified the procurement of main flume and all other accessories as per work order for Hydraulics and Fluid Mechanics laboratory during Spring 2011.

-Organized a Training Program of the sessional course : Water Resource Engineering Sessional (Open Channel Flow) for all concerned course Teachers and Lab Attendants on 2nd June 2011, Spring 2011  [Observing the Experimental setup, data recording from the attached equipment of the newly installed Flume in Hydraulics & Fluid Mechanics Lab]
