1. Try to test own reaction time.

So I use the Human benchmark site to test it.

` As the table shows , my reaction time is about 259 (ms) .

This is the statics of the test which had been done in last times .

We can see the high point is about 260ms .

It can explain that the human average reaction time is about 260 ms

(PS. Don't care about the data which is around 100ms. )

2. If I am enjoying my ride on the highway with the speed of 98km/hr , the front car suddenly stop .

How should I keep from the front car , so I can prevent myself from crashing into it.

As we know from above , there is a time between realizing the situation and doing the reaction movement .

Therefore , we could know there is a distance for our reaction to activate .

And also , after the distance for the time , we had another distance for the car to brake and slow down until it's stopped .

(PS:The surface is dry and the accleration speed in breaking is -4.6m/s^2

Here's the calculation :

98km/hr = 27.2m/s

27.2*0.259= 7.0448 m \\calculate the reaction distance

27.2^2-2*(-4.6)*S=0 \\calculate the reaction distance , S=distance

S=80.417391 (m)

Total= 87.462191 (m)

After the calculation , we could get the safety distance is 87.462191 meters .

So what can we learn from it?

I think the most reason why the accidents happened is because of not enough safety distance .

And the distanced were based on people who forcus on driving .

Although we are trying to get attention on the distance , sometimes we just can't prevent from having accidents.

Because of the maximum reacting speed is around 200ms , it's hard to reduce it .

I think in the future , there will be some driver supporting system to reduce and prevent ourselves from it.
