Hello! I'm a linguist working on syntax and morphology.

I received my Ph.D. in linguistics from MIT in 2014. [Supervisor: David Pesetsky]

My research interests center around (i) the alignment between case/agreement and grammatical relations  and (ii) nominalization.

In particular, I focused on the (split) ergativity and nominalizations found in Mayan languages such as Kaqchikel and Ixil spoken in Guatemala for my doctoral research.

While continuing  to work on Mayan languages, I have started my research on Ryukyuan languages such as Kikai (or the Kikai dialect of Amami)  spoken in Japan and Japanese Sign Language.

Since most of the the languages I have investigated are endangered languages, I'm highly interested in the preservation of these languages.
