Power Transmission Engineering

Power systems engineering deals with the generation, transmission and distribution of electric power. Recently, an introduction of smart grid and micro grid requires students to have fundamental knowledges about electric power system. Through this course, based on power systems generation, transmission & distribution line chracteristics, optimal operation and protection scheme of power system will be introduced. Futuremore, new power system issues also dealt with in this course.

Distribution System Engineering

This course includes topics on distribution system planning, load chracteristics, application of transformers, design of overhead or underground distribution lines, substations.

Power Sytem Protection (Graduate School)

Synchronous machine, transformer, loads, and trnsmission lines are the main facilities of electric energy system. For optimal operation of these components, detailed modeling and the firm understandings of the steady and dynamic chracteristics of the energy system are needed. In case of power system failure, the system components should be treated correct protection schemes. In this course, the general survey of systems modeling, protection coordination, and other topics will be discussed.
