Nanobiology Laboratory
(나노바이오 연구실)
I. Research Overview
The sensing and characterization of biological entities and events have been of great interest especially with the recent development of nanobiology and nanobiotechnology having far reaching impacts. Our research aims at developing nanosensor and biochip which can detect emerging molecular targets or their activities to explore the biological process and function of biomolecules and to address fundamental problems at the interface of life science and related fields. For this accomplishment, our lab employs a multidisciplinary approach involving diagnostics and molecular imaging in the areas of nanomedicine and environmental science with contemporary nanotoolkits.
II. Research Goal
Through developing nanosensor, biochip, and imaging probe based upon nanomaterial-biomolecule hybrid system, three important directions are being pursued to study nanobio interconncected issues in our group:
1. Analysis of Post-Translational Modifications and Protein-Protein Interactions
2. Biomedical Diagnostics: Targeting and Imaging Enzyme Activity and/or Biomarkers
3. Environmental/Microbial Diagnostics: Biotoxicity Study and Pathogenic Detection
