Short Bio
Youssef SAIDI is an Experienced Quantitative Economist-Econometrician. He is currently a Economic Adviser at Gulf Monetary Council (GMCo). Before joining GEMCo, he was an Invited Researcher at LEM-CNRS (UMR 9221) - Lille 3 and Economist-Manager at Bank Al-Maghrib (Central Bank of Morocco). Priviously, he was an Assistant Professor of statistics and econometrics at Mohammed V University in Rabat (Morocco). He also taught mathematics, statistics, econometrics and Computer Science (SAS, Eviews, Rats) at, Universities Lille (1, 2 & 3) and Valenciennes (France).

He has conducted several seminars in forecasting techniques in Morocco and Africa. 

His research focuses on monetary and exchange rate policies, time series analysis, regime change models, forecasting techniques, financial markets, commodities, emerging economies, financial contagion. He is referee for several international academic journals including, Energy, Statistics and Probability Letters,                        North American Journal of Economics and Finance, etc.
