Youssef SAIDI is an Experienced Quantitative Economist-Econometrician. He is currently an Economic Expert at the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Research Fellow at the Economic Research Forum (ERF). Before joining the General Secretariat of GCC he was an Economic Adviser at the Gulf Monetary Council (GMCo). Previously, he was an Economist-Manager at Bank Al-Maghrib (Central Bank of Morocco) and Assistant Professor of statistics and econometrics at Mohammed V University in Rabat (Morocco). He also taught mathematics, statistics, econometrics, and computer science (SAS, Eviews, Rats) at the Universities of Lille and Valenciennes (France).
He has conducted several seminars in forecasting techniques in Morocco, West African Economic and Monetary Union (UMOA) and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
His research focuses on economic integration, monetary union, monetary and exchange rate policies, time series analysis, regime change models, forecasting techniques, financial markets, commodities, emerging economies, financial contagion. He is referee for several international academic journals including, Energy, Statistics and Probability Letters, North American Journal of Economics and Finance, Journal of Economic Asymmetries, etc.
