The Young Women’s League, Inc., (YWL) was organized and incorporated as a charitable organization serving the Metropolitan Washington area by rendering financial assistance and promoting general welfare to those persons less fortunate and in great need. Over the past 80 years, the League has expanded and broadened the scope of its projects to aid the sick and homeless, the disabled and mentally challenged, the young and aged as well and provide support in civic, social and educational endeavors as well as scholarships throughout the Metropolitan DC community at large.

Community Service is an important part of our mission. We value our opportunity to engage the DC-Metropolitan area and provide ongoing service to those in need. Over this long span of time, the League has worked diligently to provide for the needs of those in our community who are socially and economically disadvantaged. We believe that we have improved the quality of life for many of the residents of the Washington Metropolitan area by providing help in areas of special needs.

The motto of the Young Women's League, Inc. is "Those who give service to others know the greatest love." Our founder Doris Carter Mundy had a vision of service. We are proud to continue that vision.
