Becoming an Official

                Referee Training in York Region

Registration for referee training in June 2025 is now closed. 

Requirements:

·      Candidates must be  physically fit and dedicated to remaining fit.

·      Candidates must be at least 18 years old or have completed grade 12.

·    Since the majority of YRABO’s games are on weekends from October to May, candidates must be prepared to provide assigners with regular availability.

·     Extensive experience in basketball as a player or coach is a definite asset, but not essential. Of equal importance are  a strong desire to learn/improve and a willingness to accept and implement feedback.
