Listed below are some of the Christmas tree types available at Yonkey Pine.

SCOTCH PINE

The Scotch Pine Christmas Tree is the most popular choice amongst Christmas Tree shoppers!

The tree features strong branches that will host the most ornaments. The Scotch Pine tree is also known for providing excellent needle retention. The color is a bright green.

When established in plantations usually 6 to 8 years are required to produce a 7 to 8 foot tree.

Fir


The combination of form, needle retention, dark blue-green color, and pleasant scent makes the fir tree a popular choice!

It requires from 7 to 10 years in the field to produce a 6-7 feet tree.

Spruce


For Christmas trees, the overall color of spruce is excellent!

Growth during the first 10 years after field planting is relatively slow and 8 to 11 years are required to grow a 6-7 foot tree.


White Pine


The largest pine in the U.S., the White Pine has soft, flexible needles and is bluish-green in color.

White Pine’s have good needle retention, but have little aroma. They aren’t recommended for heavy ornaments.

White pine is reported to result in fewer allergic reactions than do some of the more aromatic species.

To produce a 6-foot tree requires 6-8 years on good sites.
