Brief Biography

I am a postdoctoral scholar in Coordinated Science Laboratory (CSL) at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) where working with Prof. Naresh R. Shanbhag and Prof. Lav R. Varshney. I received the PhD degree advised by Prof. B. V. K. Vijaya Kumar in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) in 2016. I received the BS and MS degrees in ECE at Seoul National University (SNU), Korea, in 2002 and 2004, respectively. From 2007 to 2011, I was with Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. and Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology (SAIT) where I conducted research on coding and signal processing techniques for multi-level cell flash memories, next-generation nonvolatile memories, and solid-state drives. I received the Best Paper Award of the 2016 IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC) and the Best Paper Award of the 31st Samsung Semiconductor Technology Symposium.
