Yi Zhou
I am an assistant professor affiliated with the Department of ECE at University of Utah. Before, I worked as a post-doctorate research associate in the Department of ECE at Duke University. I obtained a Ph.D. degree in ECE from The Ohio State University in 2018 under the supervision of Prof. Yingbin Liang, and a B.S. degree in Optoelectronics from Beijing Institute of Technology in 2013.

Research interests: reinforcement learning, federated learning, scientific machine learning (Bio, health, etc), nonconvex & distributed optimization

Prospective students: Students with a solid theoretical background in machine learning, optimization & control, mathematics and statistics are encouraged to apply. Students with rich coding experience in deep learning, federated learning are also welcome! There is no preference on the students' undergrad/grad major.
