Fatih Karahan

I'm a research advisor at the New York FED. My research lies primarily at the intersection of labor economics and macroeconomics. I combine micro and macro data with structural models to answer a host of macro questions. In my policy work, I lead a team of economists conducting research on macroeconomic issues about the labor and product markets. In addition to examining cyclical developments, the team provides longer-term analyses. We give briefings to Bank's senior management and contribute blog posts to the Liberty Street Economics.

I hold a Ph.D. in economics from University of Pennsylvania, a B.S. in Industrial Engineering and a B.A. in Mathematics, both from Bogazici University in Istanbul.
