I am currently an Assitant Professor at the School of Geography, University College Dublin (UCD) since May 2024.
I got my Ph.D. degree in Geography, and majored in GIS, from the University of Georgia (UGA) in 2021, became an Affiliated Researcher at Senseable City Lab at MIT (2022) and a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Urban Big Data Center (UBDC) at the University of Glasgow from 2023 to 2024.
My work centers on interpreting the interplay between the urban from (spatiotemporal configurations and arrangements of various urban elements), environmental risks and benefits, and its consequential impacts on health outcomes and social justice, particularly by incorporating local climate and 3D morphological elements into the conventional urban form models.
As a GIS scientist, my overarching goal is to develop effective strategies to optimize the urban built environment, mitigate environmental pollution, enhance environmental justice, and inform public health interventions in global cities.
I am highly self-motivated and goal-oriented. I pay close attention to time management and prefer to schedule everything ahead of time. I enjoy communicating and cooperating with colleagues and I am glad to receive any critiques and suggestions. Technically, I am familiar with handling large datasets using Python and analyzing complicated spatiotemporal relationships with machine learning models and geospatial techniques.
