Blessings Under the Bridge (butb.org) is an amazing outreach program that for almost 15 years has been providing weekly warm meals, clothes, blankets and a kind word to the homeless in Spokane. Over the past few years, the pandemic and accelerating housing crisis have pushed more and more men, women and families out of stable shelter – and BUTB is there to help them every Wednesday, connecting them with other social services resources whenever possible.

We have started a new project to support this wonderful initiative by trying to collect additional, specific items that the homeless individuals served by BUTB may need – anything from baby wipes and diapers to an old tent or pair of shoes that could be used by someone on the street. Every Wednesday, as part of the meal service, we collect individual requests, then the following week try to provide the item to the person who requested it.

If you would like to help these individuals and families in need, please take a look at our Wish Tree Under The Bridge SignUp Genius list of request (updated weekly):

If you have any of these items lying around the house, unused, and would like to donate them to someone for whom they could make a real difference, please drop them off at your convenience and we will distribute them the following week. New items like baby clothes and disposables are also welcome.

Thank you!
