Yalin Sagduyu

I am a Research Professor at Virginia Tech National Security Institute. My research experience is in wireless communications, networks, security, 5G/6G, machine learning, adversarial machine learning, and data analytics (see Expertise for my research background). I have been also a Visiting Research Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Maryland, College Park. Previously, I was the Director of Networks and Security at Intelligent Automation Inc. (IAI) / BlueHalo, where I managed a broad portfolio of cutting-edge R&D efforts on networks and security. My work has contributed to successful commercial products and resulted in a proven record of transition success for high TRL systems. I have published over 190 papers (as of 2023) including an IEEE conference best paper award (see Publications for details and links of my papers). I am serving as Editor of IEEE Transactions on Communications and Editor of IEEE Transactions on Cognitive Communications and Networking. I have served as the track chair at major IEEE conferences, organized workshops, tutorials and invited paper sessions, given regular invited talks, and served as panelist and TPC member at major IEEE and ACM conferences (see Professional Activities for details).Â
