Welcome to the Biosynthetic Engineering and Biocatalysis Laboratory directed by Prof. Yajun Yan. Our research focuses on developing enzymatic and microbial approaches for the production of pharmaceutically important compounds as well as fuels and renewable chemicals. The research projects are interdisciplinary in nature, involving the principles and techniques of Biochemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Protein Engineering, Metabolic Engineering, and Synthetic Biology. Self-motivated undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and visiting students and scholars with backgrounds in Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, Bioengineering, and Biochemical Engineering are welcomed to join our group!
