Quanqing (QQ) Xu is a research scientist working on cloud storage at Data Center Technologies (DCT), Data Storage Institute (DSI), A*STAR, and he is an adjunct faculty at Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT). He used to be a researcher working on adaptive cloud technologies as a member of Software Systems Research Group at NICTA (National ICT Australia). He was also a Conjoint Lecturer at School of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), The University of New South Wales (UNSW). Prior to joining NICTA, he was a research fellow participating in the epiC (elastic power-aware data intensive Cloud) project as a team leader at National University of Singapore (NUS), under supervision of Prof. Beng Chin Ooi and Prof. Y. C. Tay.He obtained the Ph.D degree in computer science from the School of Electronics Engineering and Computer Science, Peking University (PKU) in 2009. He received the award of Excellent Ph.D Graduate because of his excellent performance at Peking University. He was supervised by Professor Yafei Dai and Prof. Bin Cui during his Ph.D study. His major research interests include cloud storage, cloud data management, large-scale distributed systems, Peer-to-Peer computing and Web 2.0.
