I am an assistant professor at the Shanghai Institute of International Organization and Global Governance of the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. I use formal game-theoretical models, experiments, and quantitative methods to study collective action, political violence, identity formation, and governance in authoritarian regimes, with a special focus on China. I got my Ph.D. from the Department of Political Science of Florida State University in May 2018. I was a lecturer at the Department of Political Science of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from 2018 to 2020, and a researcher affiliated with the Institute of Law and Economics at Peking University from 2020 to 2021.
