IT 401 Mobile and Cloud Computing, Fall 2021

Course Description

Lecture and discussion 3 hours; 3 credits; IT or software elective. An introduction to key concepts and techniques of cloud computing. Topics include: cloud computing concepts, machine learning in the cloud, cloud computing in FinTech, big data concepts, data analytics in the cloud, big data in FinTech.

Career Opportunities

The demand for computer and information technology professionals will stem from greater emphasis on cloud computing, the collection and storage of big data, and information security (https://www.bls.gov/ooh/computer-and-information-technology/).

Paper Presentation and Discussion

Each student will present one paper, and each audience will prepare one question. All students are expected to read the paper, and point out one pro and one con. The presentation will last 45 minutes, and the discussion 15 minutes. Once a paper is assigned, the instructor cannot reschedule the presentation. If no showup occurs, the presenter will receive no credits for the paper presentation. The slides can be uploaded to the Blackboard after the class or later.
