DRY THROW

Just for potters

This is my dry throw technique for expanding pots to a globe form. After each session a fan is on for twenty minutes while the pot slowly spins on the wheel. A physics lesson: objects at rest tend to stay at rest and objects in motion tend to stay in motion. In other words, once the clay is moved it will continue to move while the clay below will stay in place because it has not been moved. Work on the lower third of the pot last during each session.
