This course focuses on career paths of nursing personnel in various disciplines, medical assistants in urgent cares, and certified nursing assistants. There will be an emphasis on the pathophysiology and clinical manifestations in pediatrics, obstetrics/labor & delivery, and intensive care units (pediatric ICU, neonatal ICU). Embedded into the curriculum will be anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, basic pharmacology, ECG Part 1 and 2 (electrocardiogram), BLS (Basic Life Support), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support). Students will be assessed with written assignments and tests, practicals, and simulations.
