Welcome!
Al Sabado is a freelance editor and the owner of www.alsabado.com, a website dedicated to her editorial work and insights for fellow freelancers.
Al has been a full-time freelance editor since 2008. She has edited, proofread, and formatted books, e-books, corporate brochures, journal articles, company audit reports, web content, and doctoral dissertations accepted by academic institutions worldwide.
Before offering freelance editorial services, Al gained diverse professional experience as a student data encoder, researcher, writer, TV writer-associate producer, lyricist, TV scriptwriter, copywriter, government employee, cook-baker, ESL teacher, volunteer, voice talent, and project editorial assistant. This broad background has enriched her editorial perspective and attention to detail.
Since 2009, Al has authored and maintained a section on this website titled “The Filipino Freelancers’ Guide to Paying Taxes and Securing Social Benefits.” Here, she shares practical advice on freelance taxation and self-employment benefits, drawing from her own experiences filing taxes as a self-employed professional.
Al occasionally provides editorial support for nonprofit projects and is committed to ongoing professional development. She has completed the online course Copy-Editing by Distance Learning, conducted by The The Publishing Training Centre, as part of her dedication to professional retraining.
A devoted homebody, Al enjoys working on projects around her home and cherishes the years she spent caring for her beloved parents—deeply missed. She is also a cat lover, having adopted two former strays and their five kittens. Sadly, one kitten (Love Kitty) passed away and an adult cat (Peace Kitty) went missing, leaving five cherished feline companions.
