Wei Qian
Welcome! I am an Assistant Professor of Economics at Haverford College. Prior to joining Haverford, I worked as an Assistant Professor at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics for three years.
I am an applied macroeconomist, and my research interests include labor market power, firm dynamics, expectations, and trade. I am especially interested in how large government infrastructure projects and labor protection policies affect firm-level and worker-level outcomes.
Currently, I am working on estimating the impact of a government ban on domestic outsourcing and its impact on wages, employment, and worker exploitation.
