Established as an incorporated society in 1979, the objects for which the Guild of Woodworkers Canterbury is established are:

1. To foster and develop woodwork and related fields of design.

2. To exhibit and promote the work of Guild members.

3. To encourage a high level of performance in woodwork in all its aspects and related fields of design.

4. To provide a forum for the sharing of the skills and knowledge of the members of the Guild.

5. To provide facility for all interested persons to share and observe these objects and to aid the work of Guild members.
