Woodland Woggle 2024

Sunday 12th May - 10am

FINAL RESULTS OF THE 2024 10K and 6K RACES ARE HERE.

Well done to everyone that completed either the Woodland Woggle 10k or 6k.  It was even sunnier than usual which made the hilly course quite a challenge, but also made recuperation afterwards in Myrtle's courtyard afterwards more enjoyable.  Winners of the 10k were Phillip Young (AFD) in a chip time of 39:05, and Catherine Brown (TRA) in a time of 45:01. Bringing up the rear was the BVR stretcher team carrying a 60kg load in a time of 1:45:49.  The 6k winners were Evangeline Richards (AFD) in a time of 29:34 and William Holland in a time of 30:53.  The winner of the draw for a free race entry in 2025 is Michael Barnard of Finch Coasters.

There were 583 finishers. Some people switched from the 10k to the 6k before the race, and others switched during the race. Hopefully all these switches have been reflected in the results. The timing system worked very well and picked up everyone at the finish, even those that screwed up their number and carried it in a pocket. (This is not recommended!)  It missed one person at the start when there were far more people crossing the mat simultaneously, so that person has a chip time at the finish but was given the standard start time.

Our next event is the Rushmoor Wellesley 10k on 6th October. An almost flat event!  Entries open on 22nd May and like the Woggle it's always sold out before the day, so don't leave it too long if you're thinking of entering.

tough, seemingly endless ascents but the last mile is downhill. Great event

This was my first event race I've taken part in and I was nervous at the start. I took part in the 6k and I really enjoyed it.

1.5 k down hill finish meant a chance to have a burn up with other runners in the woods.

Great bacon roll to finish, car parking easy. Loads of friendly marshals.

Third year of this race and it was better than ever. The new 10k course was tough but beautiful and the organisation fantastic.

A great day and wonderful atmosphere. Well done guys.

My first event in 3 years... Loved it!
