Repeater Info

We currently have 5 UHF DMR repeaters in WNY providing solid coverage throughout Erie & Niagara Counties. We now have added a repeater in the Watertown,NY area to our coverage! All repeaters are linked together on TalkGroup 2,Slot 2. Most areas have street level portable coverage.

The Williamsville,WB2FXY 444.925, repeater site is located on a building in the Village of Williamsville. The repeater is a Motorola MTR 2000 100 watt model that is fed via 1/2" Hardline to a 6dm omni fiberglass antenna. It provides handheld coverage throughout Amherst,Tonawandas and Clarence. It has reliable mobile coverage through Northern Erie and Niagara Counties.

The Boston,WB2FXY 444.9625 repeater is located in the Town of Boston @ the Buffalo Amateur Radio Repeater Association site. The repeater is a Motorola MTR 2000 100 watt version which has a split TX/RX antenna system. The TX side is Sinclair UHF 6db commercial antenna which is fed with 7/8" feedline 70' AGL. The RX side is part of a combined antenna system fed by 7/8" Heliax and a tower mounted 10db preamp.

The Colden,W2BRW 442.150 repeater has been completely redone and sits now high atop the Town of Colden NY. At 2000'ASL this repeater has portable coverage almost everyone in WNY. The repeater is an MTR-2000 running 100 watts into a 10db Sinclair antenna fed with hardline. Tx/RX Vari Notch duplexors provide excellent isolation for the site.

The Lancaster W2BRW 444.0875 repeater is the latest to go online and is located at a excellent site in the Village of Lancaster. This repeater is a Motorola MTR-2000 with 100 watts feeding a DB420 UHF 10db antenna with 7/8" feedline. Initial testing of this repeater has shown excellent coverage for all of Central and Northern Erie County.

The North Tonawanda 442.4875 repeater is hosted at the Amateur Radio Association of the Tonawandas site. The repeater is a Motorola XPR 8300 feeding a UHF antenna at 80' above ground. This site should provide portable coverage for the Tonawands.

We have created a HBlink server to network all of our Motorola MTR repeaters together as they operate using the MMDVM protocol. You can view realtime info for the HBlink server here.

The Watertown repeater,443.525+, is a Motorola XPR 8400 that has a split TX/RX antenna system. The TX antenna is located on a tower at 280' while the recieve antenna is at the 200' level. The antennas are fed with 1 5/8" hardline.

North Tonawanda and Watertown, are connected to the PADMR Cbridge allowing us to connect to both the BrandMeister Network and DMR-MARC networks. This allows us more functionality than just being connected to one system all the time. Many thanks to Corey, N3FE for allowing us to use this great resource.
