Professor Froude was an English historian and his alma mater was Oxford College.
He was born in 1818 and he died, by the age of 71, in 1894.

The History of England from the Fall of Wolsey to the Defeat of the Spanish Armada, in 12 volumes (1856–70)
The English in Ireland in the Eighteenth Century (1872–74)
English Seamen in the Sixteenth Century (1892)
