California

California is the third-largest state in the United States of America and is located in the South-West. The capital city is Sacramento. Its first registration was on September 9^th, 1850. Nowadays the state of California has the highest population in the USA with around 37.6 million inhabitants.

It is the only state with three different landscapes: wide seacoasts, high mountains, and deserts. Except in the high mountains, normally there is a dry summer and a rainy winter.

California is bordered by the U.S. states Oregon, Nevada and Arizona, by the Mexican state Baja California and by the Pacific Ocean.
