William Henry Drummond, till 1875 known as William Henry Drumm, was born in 1854 in Ireland and died in 1907 in Ontario, Canada. He was a physician, professor, poet and public lecturer. In the late 1870´s he published his most famous poem titled “The wreck of the ‘Julie Plante” which was the beginning of his career as one of the most noted English speaking authors.
