George Cruikshank was born on the 27th of September in 1792 in London and also died there on the 1st of February in 1878. He started his career as a satirical political cartoonist and later on illustrated children´s and topic books. He was an English artist, illustrator and caricaturist and is considered one of the most successful and famous representatives of his art. His illustrations in the Charles Dickens Novels “Sketches by Boz” and “Oliver Twist” are the most famous ones.
