Lenox

Information:

Lenox is a town in the state of Massachusetts in the United States of America. It is located in Berkshire County in the Berkshire Hills, a segment of the Appalachian Mountains. In 2010 it had a population of approximately 5,000 inhabitants.

In “Autres Temps”:

One setting in “Autres Temps” is the house of Leila´s new husband´s family which is located near Lenox. A connection to Edith Wharton´s real life can be seen here, because Wharton herself lived in a house near Lenox, called “The Mount” which could have functioned as a model for the Barkley´s house in “Autres Temps”.
