Egypt is a country in the northeast of Africa. It is famous for its elaborate ancient word with accomplishments, such as the Pyramids of Giza. Egypt´s capital is Cairo. From 1882 until 1952, that is the time of Edith Wharton, Egypt belonged to the British Empire.
