Tendrils of hair

Tendrils are used by plants as some kind of anchor for it to climb further. They perform so-called search movements. With the help of a haptic stimulus, tendrils begin to wind around the object they touched (pile, building, adjoining plant). Examples are the vine (Vitis vinifera) or the hops (Humulus lupulus). 1


Tendrils of hair is a description of certain curls which just happens to look like tendrils.
