Rochester

Rochester is placed on the coastline of Lake Ontario. It is a mid-sized city with historical treasures and modern family-friendly attractions. 1

Water plays an important role in Rochester. The city was founded as a small village on the Genesse River (not far from Lake Ontario) in the early nineteen century. The main source of income of the city were flour mills. They were powered by three waterfalls and set the foundation for Rochester becoming a big trade center for grains. Therefore the city was also called the Flour City
