Omar Khayyám

Omar Khayyám was a “Persian mathematician, astronomer and poet.”¹ He lived between the years 1048 and 1131. Omar became famous for his poetry, written in the forms of quatrains. ”His poetry became widely known to the English-reading world in a translation by Edward Fitzgerald (Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyám 1859).”²
