Hinksville
Hinksville is fictitious city in this short story. It is described as “a poky little place” 1 a small town where nothing ever seems to happen.
The name Hinksville sounds a lot like Hicksville, which is a little village in Ohio with a population of 3,649. Therefore, Hinksville could be “an emblematic name of a town in the middle of nowhere.” 2
