France is a country in Europe that covers an area of approximately 543.965 square kilometers and has a population of about 66.6 million people. 122.6 people are living on 1 square kilometer of land. The official language is French. More than half of the population is Catholic [1]. The capital of France is Paris, which covers an area of approximately 105 square kilometers and has a population of more than 2.2 million people. Since the area is small in comparison to the number of citizens, the density is more than 21.000 people per square kilometer [2]. Next to Germany, France is the most important industrial country in Europe with its main sources of income being banking, insurance, IT – services, tourism and the production of cars [3]. Throughout history, France has often been shaken by conflicts created through diversity for example Protestants vs Catholics and Jansenists vs Jesuits. Having no sense of unity or nationality brings forth conflicts ([4] p.20). A simple example of that is the fact that France had seven different regional languages. The central government tried attempted to mediate by introducing a central French language. The role of the government has always been to create a union between the diverse instances.
